The River

 pain flows like the river,
shifting back and forth,
she struggles.

strives to put on that face,
 hidden in elegance is pain,
she struggles.

 swimming toward the bank,
 the river grasps,
she struggles.

a desperate shriek for help,
abandoned in the river,
she struggles.

the river becomes too much to bare,
swallowing whole,
she sinks.

Very methodical poem. I like how you have "she struggles" all the way up until "she sinks."

I really like where you put breaks in the poem

the connection you used with the river and pain i would have never thought about, it was a great metaphore.

Such a strong, emotional poem. You can feel the struggle of the person in the river.

Your connections are very abstract.
